On Friday April 21/2000 great weather at Panorama Mountain Village invited 17 pilots (total 22 pilots at the event) to great flights.

Most of the pilots launched from the Cappuccino Hut and got flights of over 40 minutes. The landing area was for this event relocated to the ski hill in front of the day lodge. The landing conditions where tricky, because the thermals started to kick off from the village. Later in the afternoon some Pilots flew from the summit and got up to 3500 m. 4 Pilots (Ron Ford, Mike Waddington, Hugo Tschurtschentaler and Max Fanderl ) flew out to the Valley and made distances up to 22 km to log as a X-country flight .
After a great day of flying and skiing some of the Pilots with familiy met at the New Black Forest Restaurant for dinner.

Saturday April 22nd/2000 weather conditions did not look very promising, but Ron Ford decided to go for a flight and check it out. At the landing field gusty conditions where asking for professional landing skills and Ron handled them very well. After watching this spectacular flight, we all decided to have a great day of skiing and boarding.

This was a lot of fun as well. Pilots spend some quality time with their families on the slopes. Chris Muller and Nisbet Patfield entered the Boarder crossing contest for a race. And the others enjoyed themselves on the slopes as well. Dinner was at the Starbird Restaurant at Panorama with a Italian Buffet. After the Buffet we where handing out the prices. The first price (Salomon Snowblades) went to Nisbet Patflield.
Every Pilot received a price what got drawn by pilots and Family/Friends.

Prices where sponsored by:
BABIN AIR (Valley Flight)
PANORAMA RESORT (West, Caps and Mugs)
COLUMBIA VALLEY TRADING COMPANY (West)
FAIRMONT RESORT PROPERTIES (Sweaters)
RIVERSIDE GOLF RESORT, FAIRMONT (Green Fees)
BLACKFOREST RESTAURANT ($50 voucher)
Re/Max REAL ESTATE - Wende Brash (cooling Bags with clocks)
MOM'S Upholstery (Lakeside Entry fee, t-shirt and Sweater)
SOS SKI & SNOWBOARD SCHOOL (1 hour private ski lessons)
STOBERS DEPARTMENT STORE (Golf Shirt)
INVERMERE HARDWARE (BBQ tools)

To provide every pilot with a great price, the entrance fees where used to buy more prices.

After the Dinner the kids got invited (from the event Organizers Max, Margot) to the Magician show.

Sunday April 23rd/2000 was a nice day with stronger thermals and wind.
We had 4 Pilots flying, they managed to climb above the summit.
Chris Muller did a great acrobatic show as he demonstrated how to thermal in tricky conditions. Furthermore he demonstrated great spirals and loops. This program entertained the people watching from the Cappuccino Hut as well as he repeated it again shortly before landing close at the Day Lodge at Panorama Mountain Village.
Skiing was still good, even we could watch the snow disappearing.
Panorama again offered great activity programs for the kids and everyone seemed to be happy.

Special thanks for the Volunteers
Gary Conway, Leeann Conway and Pat Nicol.
